Located just a 3-minute walk from JR Bentenjima Station, the 'Natural Tidal Flats - Ikarise' right in front of Bentenjima Kaihin Kouen(Bentenjima Beach) is a preserved authentic natural field on Lake Hamana. The area around the Natural Tidal Flats - Ikarise are bordered by crystal-clear and beautiful lake water. Let's float comfortably on the water's surface and enjoy a delightful time!

The schedule for the day

  • 9:00

    After reception we will provide information on restroom, changing rooms, and free shower.

  • 9:30

    Please be ready, including changing clothes, 10 minutes before the start time of the tour. We will provide a briefing on the proper wearing of life jackets and explain guidelines and safety precautions to enhance your enjoyment during the tour.

    We will take a ferry to reach the Natural Tidal Flats - Ikarise. Upon landing, we will conduct a briefing on paddling techniques on the sandy beach and practice kayak maneuvering on the water.

  • 10:30

    You will spend your time kayaking touring at a pace tailored to beginners, observing the creatures unique to the Natural Tidal Flats - Ikarise.

  • 11:45

    Take the ferry to Bentenjima Kaihin Kouen.

  • 12:00

    End of the tour.
    After the conclusion of the tour, we will disband following lunch at the black sea bream Burger shop within the Seaside Park. (Lunch menu may change depending on the season.)

    In the case of light rain, the tour will run, but if dangerous conditions such as thunderstorms occur, or if the ferry cannot operate due to stormy weather, the tour will be canceled.
    We will notify you of the decision to proceed by 6:00 pm the day before.

Cycling tour

to enjoy Lake Omote-Hamana with a tour guide.

Embark on a leisurely 23km cycling journey with a local cycling guide, exploring the picturesque landscapes of Lake Hamana and watching views of fishery and farming activities. This route takes you through historic post towns and fishing villages of Tokaido, dating back to the Edo period.

    We will provide a briefing on adjusting and using the rental bicycles, as well as guidelines and important notes to enhance your enjoyment of the tour

  • 9:00

    Departing from Bentenjima Kaihin Kouen, we will head towards Arai-shuku.

    Planned route : Moto- Arai-shuku, Along the Hamana River, temple road, Arai-sekisho(Customs clearance experience), and Komatsurou-Machizukuri-Koryukan(observe).

  • 11:30

    We will head towards Maisaka.

    Planned route : Unagi Kannon, Kitagange, Maisaka-shukuwaki-honjin(observe), and Bouchoutei Imagireguchi.

  • 12:00

    Arrival at Bentenjima Kaihin Kouen.
    End of the tour.

Experience the Old Tokaido Ferry and Explore the History of Arai-shuku and Maisaka-shuku Tour. During the Edo period, the important checkpoints for the Tokaido, such as Arai-shuku and its neighboring town of Maisaka-shuku, were accessed by crossing the Imagire ferry. After actually crossing from Maisaka-shuku to Arai-shuku by ferry, we will explore the old townscapes and historical spots of Arai-shuku and Maisaka-shuku on foot with guidance from our guide.

    Board the ferry from Bentenjima Pier and travel through Imagireguchi to Arai Pier while looking at the Natural Tidal Flats - Ikarise, Kita Gange, and Maisaka Port.

    After disembarking, we will stroll through Arai-shuku with the guide.
    Planned route : Ship corral ruins, the public bath “Midoriyu” that has been around since the Meiji era, a temple road, etc.

  • 11:00

    At the Komatsurou-Machizukuri-Koryukan, we will create a passage permit of the Arai-sekisho and touring the facility.

  • 12:00

    At the Komatsurou-Machizukuri-Koryukan, enjoy a traditional lunch of Oke sushi.

  • 12:45

    After visiting the Hatago Kinokuniya Museum, at the Arai-sekisho,
    inspection of a passage permit, take photographs in traditional travel
    attire, and tour the checkpoint.

    Travel from JR Arai-cho Station to Bentenjima Station on the JR Tokaido Line.

  • 14:30

    After arriving at JR Bentenjima Station, we will explore Maisaka-shuku on foot.

    Planned route : Benten shrine, Kita Gange

    We will visit the Maisaka-shukuwaki-honjin for observation.

  • 15:30

    Arrival at Bentenjima Kaihin Kouen.End of the tour.
